|About Michael Germer:
Dr. Michael Germer graduated from Nebraska Wesleyan University and the University of Nebraska Medical Center. He did his pediatric residency at the University of Oklahoma and did an extra Chief Resident year. He previously served as the state president of the Nebraska Chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics. He helped the Lincoln Pediatric Group become the first office in the state to use routine autorefractor/photoscreening to help prevent amblyopia (“lazy eye”). During Dr. Germer’s career he has seen most vaccine preventable diseases. Many of them were common and it’s been gratifying to watch them disappear. Improvements in breast feeding support, nutrition, technology, psychological interventions and medications have been transformational. But… there’s still a lot of work to do. In his spare time Dr. Germer enjoys reading history, Spanish, gardening, running and most of all being a spouse, parent and grandparent.
