| About Shelley Nelson: |
Dr. Shelley Nelson joined Lincoln Pediatric Group in 2016. Dr. Nelson received a
Bachelor of Arts in Biology with high distinction from Nebraska Wesleyan University.
Dr. Nelson received her Doctorate of Medicine from the University of Nebraska Medical
Center in 2011. She completed her pediatric residency at Indiana University with Riley
Children’s Hospital in Indianapolis in 2014, won the Henry Jones Teaching Award for
her residency and is board certified in Pediatrics. Dr. Nelson spent the last two
years as a Newborn Hospitalist in Indianapolis, Indiana working in the Neonatal
Intensive Care Unit and newborn nurseries. She coordinated resident rotations in the
newborn nursery and has spent 5 years providing medical student education. She is a
Lincoln native and was thrilled to move back to Nebraska to be closer to her family!
She lives with her husband, Ben, and two daughters (Lilah and Adeline) and enjoys
reading, hiking, tennis, history, travelling, and a new-found love of IndyCar.
