COVID-19 Office Update

Lincoln Pediatric Group continues to be dedicated to the health and well-being of our patients and families.  We monitor information and advice in regards to COVID-19 from the most reputable and up-to-date sources we have, including the CDC, WHO, and more locally from Children’s, UNMC, and Boys Town.  This situation is fluid, so please continue to be patient with our pediatric office as procedures and policies. These are changing and will continue to evolve over time.  Our phone lines are busy.  We are working as quickly as possible to answer and return phone messages.

Our chief goal is to continue to provide care for our families while still being cognizant of our responsibility to the community at large.  It is of the utmost concern that we limit exposure, and thus, transmission as much as we possibly can. We have a responsibility to ensure personal protection to our patients and their families, as well as our employees

Effective 3/17/2020, our office will initiate the following procedures.

  • Morning hours will be reserved for well visits. These will be restricted to new-born to two years of age.  We will be contacting all other scheduled well visits to cancel/reschedule.
  • Afternoon and evening hours will be reserved for sick visits
  • All patients will be assessed for COVID-19 risk prior to being allowed in clinical care area
  • We request that only one healthy parent/caregiver accompany the patient.  Please leave siblings at home. We are happy to involve others at the time of the appointment via FaceTime or Skype.

We are ramping up our telemedicine capabilities, which will help us not only in this difficult scenario but also in the future.  We will provide you with information on this level of access once we are up and running.

We have instituted specific triage methods to help decrease the amount of exposure – including families utilizing their vehicles as waiting rooms and as locations of potential examinations as well.   Although we do have some limited tests for COVID-19, we are also very limited in our supply of protective equipment needed to keep staff protected during test collection.  We hope to expand the avenues of testing for our families in the coming days/weeks.

Until that time, we will be using this page as the primary source for keeping our families informed about the latest information.  We encourage you to bookmark this page to stay up to date on the latest information.  Below are online references we trust and are excellent resources for all.

We also want to stress the importance of following social distancing guidelines.  Please keep your family home as much as possible and avoid unnecessary trips out of the house.  Doing your part to help slow down the spread of this virus is the best thing you can do at this time.  Also, wash your hands!

Thanks for your understanding.
